IAHR Regional Conference: "What Is Religion For? Asian-Pacific Perspectives"

The New Zealand Association for the Study of Religion (NZASR) in conjunction with the IAHR will host an IAHR Regional Conference on the topic "What Is Religion For? Asian-Pacific Perspectives" at the Department of Religious Studies, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, 11 December - 13 December 2002.

The conference will also feature a special Religious Studies Postgraduate Workshop on one of the afternoons of the conference for all Honours, MA and Ph.D. students.  There will be a conference dinner, harbour ferryboat trip, and a tour of the Wellington region as well.

Papers on all aspects of the study of religion are welcome.  Please send paper abstracts to Dr. Joseph Bulbulia by 1 October 2002.

The Executive Committee of the IAHR has designated this conference as the venue for its next annual meeting.  The editorial board of NUMEN will also convene at the meeting.
