Purpose
Rosalind Hackett (President of IAHR) and Morny Joy (Executive Committee) have worked together since 1986 to establish the Women Scholars Network under the auspices of the IAHR.
This network has been founded to provide a forum for women in Religious Studies throughout the world to be in contact with one another. So, the basic aim is to encourage scholarly exchange, as well as to help solidify friendships that have begun at various IAHR conferences in different countries and regions. We hope to provide a venue for dialogue on topics of mutual academic and professional interest.
Through this website, the IAHR Women Scholars Network aims to provide the following:
If you have resources, conference reports, conference photos, or links to other associations and networks that you would like to share on the website, please send all such items to the Webmaster, Tracy Derynck, at tlderynck@alumni.uclagary.ca. Submissions are always welcome.
If you would like to become a member of the Women Scholars Network, please join our e-mail list. This e-mail group is intended to provide a forum for women faculty and graduate students in Religious Studies to create networks and share information, experiences, ideas, challenges, opportunities etc. related to issues facing women working in the field of Religious Studies. This moderated list is meant to foster a cooperative and collegial atmosphere among such scholars.
You may join the Women Scholars Network e-mail list and become a member of the WSN by clicking here and filling out the form. You will be notified when your membership is approved, and your name added to our database of scholars. The current moderator of this list is Carmen Webb and she can be reached via email at wsn-l-owner@mailman.ucalgary.ca.
